Le Château Saint-Roch in 1999

- 38 hectares of vineyard in AOC Lirac and Côtes du Rhône

- Average age of vine : 33 years

- The vineyard of Château Saint-Roch is situated on the parish of Roquemaure, on the hillside created by the formation of the Rhone furrow.
Soils are made of three diferent types: red earth and shingle, particularly suitable for red wine production, a more sandy soil that brings fineness and elegance to wine, and limestone rock slide.

The microclimat is especialy interesting,. It is characterized by first: a strong sunny period, second: the influence of the river Rhône for hygrometric conditions, and third: the smaller violence of the Mistral wind because of the protection of the hills of Saint Génies.
This micro climate allows a good maturation, even for the Mouvèdre variety which is a late grape variety.

An ambitious program of restructuration of the vineyard has begun
Increasing the plantation density from 2000 to 4000 vine plants / hectare on 8 hectares by doubling the vine rows.
Over grafting
Plantation : 1,8 hectare of Syrah and Grenache noir
